Abstract :
This paper presents an adaptive power control scheme capable of online learning and self-tuning for microgrid applications. Conventional PI controllers, typically implemented in synchronous (dq) reference frame, have been traditionally used in power control of distributed generators (DGs). Despite having good behavior in controlling dc variables, these controllers show poor response in case of load changes and high penetration of DGs in the microgrid. In our proposed approach a fuzzy logic inspired critic-based control is combined with traditional PI regulators to consolidate intelligence and robustness in the system. The resulted control scheme is a self-tuning and adaptive control with on-line learning capability. Simulation results verify the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm compared to traditional approaches.
