Abstract :
Atomic absorption lines provide stable optical frequency references, which can be used to interrogate strain-induced frequency shifts of fiber Bragg gratings. High sensitivity of 1.2 nanostrain//spl radic/Hz at 1.5 Hz is obtained using this novel technique.
