  • Abstract
The authors introduce a generic and flexible ontology for modeling ill-structured knowledge domains within intelligent educational systems. The ontology is based on the theory of cognitive flexibility. We have prototyped the ontology on a deductive object oriented database system. We provide simple and concrete examples that demonstrate benefits of the ontology, such as extensibility, flexibility and support for implementing authoring environments
