Abstract :
A Gaussian tapered post wall slotline antenna (TPWSA) is proposed for millimeter wave applications and a post wall fin-line (PWF) is devised for feeding the TPWSA. The post wall slotline (PWS) of the proposed antenna is composed of bilateral Gaussian tapered slotline with two metalized via arrays aligned at the slot edges. The PWS is connected to and fed by a novel transmission line, which is termed as post wall fin-line. The transmission performance of the transition from a waveguide to the PWF is investigated and simulated results demonstrate the features of the post wall fin-line and its feasibility for feeding tapered slotline antenna. Simulated results show that the proposed millimeter wave antenna presents wide bandwidth, high gain, and very good symmetric radiation patterns in E-plane and H-plane.
