Abstract :
Along with the rapid expansion of the arch dam technology, the shapes of dams are becoming increasingly diversified. In order to obtain the better shape designing quality of being economical and logical, rapid developments of shape design optimization are under way. Within the optimization, the key issue is to find out the economic target function aimed for minimum cost together with maximum efficiency. As there are plenty of ways to establish the target function, this article attempts to explore a new way for functions deduction. Using C++ computer programming, the automatic calculation and mapping has been achieved; three-dimensional models of the dam have been realized at the same time, these progresses also makes it easier for the stress analysis of the next step.
