Abstract
In order to provide diagnosis knowledge properly, assist the facility maintenance diagnostic work, and improve the efficiency and accuracy of expert diagnosis, a Virtual Reality (VR) based diagnosis scheme for hydro power facility was developed. Both facility information (including operating state and failure phenomenon) and diagnosis knowledge are provided in VR environment. Furthermore, the experts´ reasoning methods (mechanism) and knowledge database are offered in the experts´ diagnostic process combined with facility statistical knowledge. Finally, through Human Computer Interaction (HCI), the diagnostic knowledge can be maintained easily to help the experts make diagnosis decision. The VR based diagnosis scheme has been put into service in Gezhouba hydropower station. The application results are presented.
