            Abstract :
CFB boilers have outstandingly advantages in large-scale industrial applications for biomass co-combustion. A 260t/h CFB boiler in Luoyang is a typical one using straw pellets and local bituminous coal as fuels. Series of tests were carried out on this boiler to evaluate the operation performance on co-combustion of biomass and coal. The results show that the boiler operates stably and the efficiency of the boiler declines slightly with the mixing ratio of biomass increasing, and the exhaust SO2 is much lower than expected. The co-combustion of biomass with coal can be advantageous in controlling the temperature in the furnace, while, it will also cause slagging problems.
