Abstract :
In recent times, the layer 3 Shim6 approach has become the most promising multihoming approach in the viewpoint of the IETF. How to switch to another address-pair in case of failure of current using address-pair is a very important problem of Shim6, which is achieved by REAP (reachability protocol) protocol in Shim6 specification. However, in REAP, the address switching time may increase exponentially. This paper proposes a refined Shim6 address switching method which can maintain the address switching time at 10 s exactly. This paper presents the algorithm design and evaluates its effectiveness by simulation experiments.
