Abstract :
A model is simulated in the computer to represent mechanical behaviour of cardiac muscle during isometric and isotonic phases of contraction. and physiological and isotonic-isometric sequenced phases of relaxation. For different afterloads and for changing initial muscle length. Force-velocity-length and time relations together with the active state curve are shown to verify the experimental results. Effects of relaxation load are analyzed in terms of phase-plane curves. The model although phenomenological, very closely mimics cardiac muscle experiments
