Abstract :
The aperture jitter of the sampling clock is the major factor for the design of the broadband signal acquisition system and the RF directly digitalized system. Considering the probability distribution of aperture jitter and the power spectrum of the signals, this paper analyzes quantitatively the jitter effect as viewed from the frequency domain, and expresses the error as signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). These expressions can be applied to the precise analysis of jitter error on the IF digitalized system, the RF digitalized system, and the broadband signal acquisition system. Based on it, the jitter effect is discussed on the undersampling scheme of the phase modulated signals which indicates that the effect to signal constellation lies in both the white noise and the phase noise.
