Abstract :
This paper presents a new adaptive beamforming algorithm for CDMA wireless communications. The algorithm is based on an array pattern synthesis technique and a simple direction of arrival estimation method. The former is to minimize the weighted squared-errors between the achieved pattern and a reference pattern and the latter is to estimate DOA roughly with simplicity. Although there is some tiny error during DOA estimation, the proposed algorithm provides a well-satisfied SINR performance as well as a fast convergence rate compared by the conventional beamforming algorithms. Simulation results are presented in various signal environments to show the performance of the proposed algorithm.
