Abstract :
SONIA is a job-shop scheduling system designed to detect and react to inconsistencies between a scheduling plan and the actual events on a shop floor. It is provided with a BB1-like blackboard architecture for coordinating the activation of various scheduling and analyzing knowledge sources. Most of the knowledge sources used by SONIA are flexible, allowing improvement of the efficiency of SONIA´s problem-solving.
