Abstract :
An analog phase shifter for satellite onboard phased arrays is presented. The compact MMIC (monolithic microwave integrated circuit) consists of a buffer amplifier and all-pass phase shift sections, covering 7 to 8.5 GHz. The root-mean-square phase error over frequency is +or-1.5 degrees . The amplitude variation over phase states is +or-5 dB. The phase resolution is preserved by a linear control curve. Better than 80% DC and RF yield was obtained across a 4-in wafer.<>
