  • Abstract
    Natural phenomenon simulation such as: ocean sea, spray, snow, rain etc. is a challenging topic in field of computer graphics. How to generate spray on sea? How to consider both wave spectrum and sea scale while simulating wave in visual system? How to implement the algorithm of wave generation in real-time? Based on analyzing the relationship between sea scale and wave spectrum, the wave model of irregular long crest wave and generating principle of spray, the paper presents one method to simulate wave and spray according to wave spectrum and wave scale. The method discretizes adaptively wave spectrum to different single frequency, then apply the data of frequencies to simulate irregular long crest wave. Unique mesh model and texture mapping technology are also adopted to simulate wave in real-time. Particle system is used to simulate the spray on sea.
