Abstract
In this paper, we discuss the performance of messages transmitted on Control Channel (CCH) and Service Channel (SCH) brought by channel switching in the Wireless Access in Vehicular Environment (WAVE). Through exhaustive simulations, the channel wastage problem and shortage problem are investigated with the varying of traffic density and contention window in MAC sub-layer. An adaptive independent channel switching mechanism is proposed to make rational use of the channel resources. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is validated through simulations.
