Abstract :
The authors present the basic cost of customer interruption data required to perform reliability worth studies in distribution networks. Distribution system reliability indices were obtained and utilized to estimate the customer interruption costs by considering outages within the subtransmission segments and the radial segments associated with two distribution test systems. The authors present the basic concepts involved in utilizing a contingency enumeration technique in association with appropriate customer cost functions to evaluate the distribution system reliability worth at the individual customer load points. The load point interruption costs are utilized to estimate IEAR (interrupted energy assessment rate) indices for different sectors associated with the distribution test systems. The load point interruption costs and/or sector IEAR can be used in making planning decisions
