  • Abstract
    The access network selection is important for the service delivery in a heterogeneous wireless environment. On the other hand, network coding can improve the transmission efficiency of wireless broadcasting. In this paper, we propose a network selection approach in the heterogeneous wireless broadcasting environment, whose key ideas are to combine the network selection with network coding and achieve a fast selection. Both theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the performance of our proposed approach is very close to the optimal approach based on network coding, but much faster. And our approach has a higher transmission rate compared with existing approaches.
