Abstract :
Power control is a very important issue which can improve the system performance and enlarge the system capacity. In the paper, the signal to noise ratio (SIR) is the parameter used to stand for the grade of service. This paper presents and discusses a power control algorithm which partially compensates the loss of the signal to interference ratio during the power control. The algorithm is used in our system simulation platform. The simulation results show that the algorithm achieves a greater capacity gain than the algorithm proposed by Almgren et al. (1994), and reduces the SIR spread
