Abstract :
This paper presents a new method to design wavelet filters optimized for electrocardiogram (ECG) data compression. The feature of these filters, called adaptive lifting wavelet filters, is to set the variance of distribution of wavelet coefficients to a small value, adapting to the ECG signals. The designed filters are almost compactly supported and perfect reconstruction
