Abstract
In this paper we propose an innovative high gain microstrip antenna well suited for aerospace applications. The design is based on a shorted annular patch (SAP) radiator integrated with a stacked parasitic element. Thanks to the mechanical characteristics of SAP the whole antenna can be realized with suspended technology leading to a compact and robust radiator.
