Abstract :
The co-existence of the new low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks and other radiocommunication systems must be assured when designing and implementing them. However, to compute interference applying the classical link budget equations it is necessary to know the distance between a Tx and a victim Rx, which is not easy to accomplish in the interference environments involving LEO satellites because the length of the propagation paths change as the satellites move. The ITU-R has proposed a simulation methodology based on modeling of the dynamic motion equations of the satellites to overcome this problem. However, the drawback of this methodology is the long computer time required to obtain statistically significant results. Therefore, we propose an enhanced simulation methodology. Here we optimize the ITU-R methodology by using a new criteria to estimate interference levels based on a probabilistic model of the distance between a Tx and a victim Rx
