Abstract
Instantaneous Frequency estimation of multicomponent signal with nonlinear frequency modulation is a challenging problem in time frequency analysis community. A new time frequency distribution named complex argument distribution is introduced to resolve this problem due to its capabilities of high concentration and low cross-term artifacts. A instantaneous frequency estimation algorithm based on this new distribution and Viterbi estimator is proposed in the paper. Experiments result show the performance of estimation algorithm with simulated data and radar data.
