Abstract :
A new digital watermarking technique is proposed for still images in the modified discrete cosine transform (MDCT) domain. Most of the existing image and video watermarking algorithms use block transformations that introduce blocking artifacts, causing perceptible distortions. MDCT has better coding performance compared to DCT and also the computational complexity of MDCT has been reduced in recent years compared to wavelets. We investigate the use of MDCT in digital watermarking.
