Abstract :
How to improve the efficiency of resource allocation and the performance of interference suppression has always been the essential issue and motivity of technology revolution in wireless communications. As to the issues of resource allocation and performance improvement in complex time-frequency fading channels, the proper time-frequency mathematics methods are encouraged to be utilized. Our research team has been interested in the weighted-type fractional Fourier transform (WFRFT) ever since 2007, and then introduced it into communication systems. The WFRFT comprises a co-modulation process of single-carrier (SC) scheme and multi-carrier (MC) scheme, by utilizing which a new hybrid-carrier (HC) scheme is proposed. We believe that the different carrier schemes have different adaptabilities to diverse fading channels, and a cooperative HC scheme will lead to a better performance. Meanwhile, the current communication systems have an alternative of SC or MC, or they could be adopted in down-link and up-link respectively sometimes. In this regard, a HC system is able to, not only provide the compatibility with SC and MC, but also achieve a smooth and seamless transition between the two. So a few of technical or non-technical conflicts caused by the incompatibility of SC and MC can be released. We are now researching on the basic theory, mechanism of convergence, essential techniques and feasibility study of cooperative HC scheme, preparing to share some ideas on system design and techniques selections of future communication systems.
