Abstract :
The OCDMA techniques have been studied for various networking applications including LAN, access networks and all-optical GMPLS-based packet switching. Unlike RF-CDMA, the OCDMA codes need to have minimal cross-correlation properties due to the IM/DD nature of the data links. In this paper, we describe the design of multi-user high-speed networks with wavelength/time matrix code, using a commercial optical systems simulator, OptSimtrade. We also show the penalties due to MAI. We extend our analyses to ASE-limited and thermal noise-limited cases corresponding to the optically amplified and un-amplified network links. We also discuss factors affecting data security and present strategies to enhance a network´s resilience to malicious intrusions
