            Abstract :
This paper presents the system modeling and controller design based on symmetrical optimal method for distribution static compensators (D- STATCOMs). The D-STATCOM model and its control are investigated. In this work, the current decoupling control based on the dq reference frame is determined. The symmetrical optimum method is applied to obtain the parameters of PI controllers. The response of the D-STATCOM current with and without the decoupling are compared and discussed.
