Abstract
A wideband unidirectional slot aperture antenna is analyzed. The slot aperture antenna is excited by a 50 Ω microstrip line with a U-shaped tuning stub. A matching bandwidth of 97% is achieved. A stable broadside radiation pattern is also obtained for the whole matching bandwidth. An average gain of around 3 dBi is obtained across the operational frequency band.
