Abstract :
Pod-track is aimed at detecting, tracking and possibly identifying individual wild dolphins from their whistles. It is based on an array of hydrophones that provides enhanced detection range and localization accuracy compared with a single hydrophone, but is compact enough to be deployed from a small boat. This paper is concerned mainly with the azimuth localization technique that will be used and the computer simulations conducted to verify their feasibility.
