Abstract
In this study, an AE sensor system with a high sampling frequency was used to observe the AE signal when a magnetic head touch down by DFH power in a spin-stand tester. The AE signal was analyzed by FFT via band filter to get ingredient in various frequencies. It was found that the happening time of AE signal with different frequency was different due to the contact situation. The measured information about the presented frequency and happening time were used to analyze and estimate the contact situation. It was attempted to understand how head touch down gives impact on the slider and suspension. The design concept will be also discussed according to head touch down behaviors.
