Abstract :
A typical resonance problem caused by the low swaging force was studied. With investigation on the deformation of the arm, the baseplate and the ball, theoretical model was built to estimate the relationship between the ball size, the degree of plastic deformation of baseplate as well as the swaging force. Experiment based on the results of the model indicated that the ball size introducing a 15% deformation is preferred to provide the an enhanced resonance performance.
