Abstract :
A broadband data overlay attained over 1 Mbps downlink throughput in field testing over the coverage area of an operational AMPS/TDMA system. Field testing also verified non-interference to the cellular system. Frequency domain notch filtering of overlay signals made the overlay transparent to cellular operations and protected the overlay from interference from cellular RF traffic. Spread spectrum processing mitigated ISI caused by notching and interference from adjacent cell overlay signals
