  • Abstract
Power control method usually assumes a fixed receiver structure and optimizes the quality of service (QoS) by adjusting the transmitter power. But multiuser detection ordinarily assumes that the transmitter power is fixed and optimizes the receiver structure. In the paper, we combine game theory and multiuser detection to propose a new joint power control algorithm, which both the transmitter power and receiver filter coefficients need updating. We show that the new algorithm converges to a fixed-point power vector where all the users satisfy their SINR-based QoS requirements and the linear receiver filter converges to the minimum mean squared error (MMSE) multiuser detector. Moreover, the simulation results show that on condition that total transmitted powers in wireless networks is given, users can obtained a higher QoS and the capacity of the system can be also improved
