Abstract :
A one-dimensional (1D) microstrip photonic bandgap (PBG) structure is proposed. It is a section of microstrip line with special patterns etched in the line itself. Simulation shows that the PBG cell exhibits good slow-wave and band-stop effects. Several cells connected in series form an excellent band-stop filter.
