Abstract :
A novel converter topology for SRM drives is proposed and analyzed in the paper. The topology is very flexible and can work well in all conditions including low and high speeds in monitoring and generating modes. Furthermore, the converter is compact since the separate transistor switches and diodes are replaced with off-the-self integrated power modules, greatly reducing the connection inductance and EMI effects. In addition, the limitation of the proposed converter topology is discussed. Experimental investigation is conducted and the results are provided to verify the proposed converter.
