Title :
Sidelobe analysis of scanning lens antenna for satellite communications
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
In two-way satellite communications to moving vehicles the antenna sidelobe envelope should fall below certain limits so as to limit interference between adjacent satellites. A lens antenna can perform well in this respect. A hemispherical lens antenna of aperture diameter 60 cm is under development to support multi-beam applications in the Ku band. The co-polar and cross-polar sidelobe patterns are computed for the transmit and receive bands and compared with a stringent specification recommended by Eutelsat.
