Abstract
The problem of voltage fluctuations in the power net appears to be one of the most severe power quality problems. Different ways and methods of voltage control have been already suggested. In the paper a survey of existing technologies is made. A New concept for voltage control in the net is suggested with the use of a tap changer of the distribution transformer. Distribution transformer tap changer with the continuous operation of tap changing and control of the secondary voltage brings a remarkable improvement in power supply quality, keeping the voltage in the net constant. Theoretical study and design with experimental results of the electronic tap changer for a three-phase 500 kVA 10 kV/ 400 V distribution power transformer are described in the paper too.
