Abstract :
WDM technologies will play an important role in future broadband optical networks. Thus there is a demand for tunable components which can be tuned quickly, precisely and reliably to any desired wavelength within a tight tolerance. In this paper we present the results of a digitally tunable WDM source using a FLC spatial light modulator which can fulfil all these requirements by a holographic tuning mechanism.
