Abstract
A technique to extract parameters of a distributed target using the frequency covariance function of the backscattered field is proposed. It is shown how applying a Fourier transform to the covariance function separates distinct scattering mechanisms in the transform space, allowing for the direct determination of certain target parameters such as vertical scatterer distribution. Sample results based on theoretical scattering models are presented
