Abstract
In this article, theory and validation results are presented to show the working mechanism of a new tool for analysing leaky-wave radiation from parallel plate waveguide (PPW) which is periodically loaded with planar metallization. This device could be used to construct leaky-wave antennas at microwave and millimetre-wave frequencies. The novelty of this method lays in the incorporation of roof-tops basis functions. This enables one to study complex printed circuits designs. The proposed simulation program is an efficient tool to analyze and design leaky-waves antennas with right or left handed properties.
