Abstract
The piezoelectric crystal with high electromechanical coupling coefficient have been focused as it may trigger a revolution in the performance of next generation devices. The characteristics of acoustic waves propagation in the single crystal are theoretically investigated, which is useful for a fundamental understanding on wave phenomena and for potential applications. The guided wave with horizontal shear mode in piezoelectric orthorhombic media has been elucidated and there exists the necessary condition for the appearance of pure shear Bleustein-Gulyaev wave. Transverse waves obtained in this paper in order to achieve the large fractional bandwidth is presented. The electromechanical coupling in the substrate at around 50% can be obtained for the pure shear wave of a piezoelectric layer.
