Abstract :
The application of PMU measurements and perfect regulation with robust control to damp inter-area oscillations is investigated. Combined with the robust control theory, a perfect regulation control with robust performance is obtained. The closed loop eigenvalues are gradually increasing from the under damping or negative damping to positive damping. A 4-machine 13-bus study system reinforced is considered. The damping performance of the controllers is examined in the frequency and time domains. The simulation results show that the control scheme is able to robustly damp out inter-area oscillations following possible disturbances.
