Abstract :
Reiser4 is a new high-performance extensible file system for Linux. It features a plugin framework allowing users to develop and add new security attributes to the file system objects. It specifically features the following: implementing security attributes as files; enabling fine grained security by implementing inheritance, thereby allowing portions of files to be secured individually by controlling modification times and other security attributes of subfiles; file encryption implemented by encrypting files at flush time rather than with every write atomic transactions; and arbitrary constraints on allowed values in files.
