Abstract :
Today´s C4ISR applications require capabilities to define, represent, associate, discover, share and reason over the explicit semantics of distributed information and network services. This in turn facilitates their comprehension, discovery, use, composition and interoperability. The rapid evolution of the semantic Web is producing standards, technology and products to meet these needs; however, these are as yet fluid and relatively immature. At SAIC we are developing a semantic services framework (SSF) to provide a repertoire of Web-services that provide a stable interface to reusable semantic services. These services address ontology management, semantic context management, ontology-based reasoning, semantic Web-service management, and the management of integrated information content in a form that is conducive to access, exploration and reasoning
