Abstract :
As hub airports become larger and larger, it is vital that available runway capacity is used optimally to prevent them turning into air traffic bottlenecks and to eliminate additional environmental stress. This paper presents an overview of the Cooperative Local Resource Planner (CLOU), which has been developed as a prototype to assist in “airport centered flow management”, and the Emissions-Simulation-feasibility (EmSi) project. The EmSi project will lead to a tool with the possibility to predict air and noise pollution already during the development of new procedures by being implemented in an extensive ATM simulation environment.
