Abstract :
This research aims at establishing criteria for the automatic identification of defects in paper/oil insulation systems. Statistical analysis of partial discharge (PD) data collected in a reference database (built up from tests on artificial defects: internal PD, surface PD, corona and discharges due to bubbles in oil) is carried out to highlight the best identification markers. The development of an automatic identification system based on fuzzy logic is presented. Eventually, applications of identification are discussed.
