Abstract
TCP/OBS networks are feasible networks for communication in future and Optical Burst Switching (OBS) is the promising technology solutions for this network. In these networks the data transfer is held in the form of bursts. Adequate amount of research work is done in this domain. Even though OBS has an advantage of transferring data with good speed but it suffers from security vulnerabilities. For bursty traffic, OBS is the best as it switches at the packet level with fine details than allowed by the other switching techniques. Here our work is to discover the weakness that persists in the TCP/OBS networks, the countermeasures for the same is dealt separately using the ns2 simulator with modified nOBS patch for simulation and verification of the security parameters.
