Abstract :
A novel class-E design approach, in which the design problem is posed as an optimization problem with a suitably defined performance function, is described. The procedure minimizes the magnitude of the switch voltage at turn-on and the sensitivity of the output voltage to load variation. The minimization of the sensitivity of the output voltage alone yields circuit configurations with a switch voltage at turn-on that is not only zero, but is also quite insensitive to changes in the load. Furthermore, based on the numerical results there seem to be many optimal solutions
