Abstract :
In quantitative landscape ecology landscape metrics were developed to describe spatial patterns in classified images. These indices allow the realization and representation of environmental changes especially of landscapes. The coherence between these indices to ecological processes, which generally have a spatial component, can be determined. This contribution presents important landscape metrics like dominance, contagion- and shape complexity-index and results from the analysis of CORINE-landscape data
