  • Abstract
The battery is the most common method of energy storage in all systems. Today, lithium-ion is the fastest growing and most promising battery chemistry as lithium is the lightest of all metals, has the greatest electrochemical potential and provides the largest energy density for weight. In the design of battery supplyed devices, monitoring the amount of electric charge in the battery is very important. Its role is that of assuring the optimum amount of energy that can be extracted from the battery, which is realised by monitoring the charge/discharge processes. In this paper a model was developed to estimate a battery´s state of charge and voltage. The model was conducted on a GP lithium-ion battery.
