Abstract :
A new dual frequency (C and Ku band) algorithm is presented for the retrieval of rainfall profiles over the sea surface. The algorithm is based on a simple iterative procedure that relies on nadir measurements, and on an electromagnetic (e.m.) model of the sea surface. Simulations are presented, indicating a good performance of the algorithm accompanied by a fast convergence rate
